PTA VISION AND Mission
To make every child's potential a reality by engaging and empowering families and communities to advocate for all children.
We foster and encourage parent participation and provide support and resources to the school for the benefit and educational growth of the children. We strive to promote and help develop a cooperative working relationship between parents and staff at our school as well as provide opportunities for parents to participate in school governance and have a voice in decision-making.

What is PTSA?
PTSA stands for Parent Teacher Student Association.
We are an independent non-profit affiliated with Washington State PTA and National PTA.
For more than 100 years, the National Parent Teacher Association (National PTA®) has worked toward bettering the lives of every child in education, health, and safety. Today’s PTA is a network of millions of families, students, teachers, administrators, and business and community leaders devoted to the educational success of children and the promotion of family engagement in schools. Who are we?
Bennett PTSA is a 100% volunteer-run non-profit organization.
We are parents, teachers, staff, relatives and community members – just like you! We welcome anyone who wants to be involved and make a difference in the education, health, and welfare of children.
Legally, we are a self-governing entity with a long-standing, strong partnership with school administration, teachers, and staff. We are affiliated with State and National PTA (since 1977), subject to their bylaws and regulated by the State of Washington Corporation and Association Act (RCW 24.03). We are tax-exempt and subject to federal laws governing 501(c)(3) organizations.
What do we do?
The PTSA is a powerful voice and valuable resource for all students, families, teachers and administrators. We are devoted to the educational success of children and the promotion of parent engagement in schools. PTSA provides the opportunity to make a difference by developing leadership skills, learning about the legislative process, increasing their self-esteem, and contributing to the school. In turn, members gain a new perspective for program development, as well as acquire a better understanding of the youth of today.
To reach these goals, we provide support, programs, and activities to Bennett students and families throughout the year. Walkathon, Readathon, Book Fair, Art Night, Science Week, Reflections, Talent Show, Field Day, Staff Appreciation Events, Spelling Bee, After School Enrichment, Field Trips & Curriculum Enhancement, in-classroom Educational Tools, Yearbook, 5th Grade Camp and Math Adventure are some examples of programs we fund.
Why do we fundraise?
We are above all an advocacy organization. Volunteers and fundraising are the lifeblood of the PTSA. Without either of these, the PTSA could not function. State funding is not enough to give the best academic, social, physical, and emotional education our children need. As a result, around 75% of our annual budget is invested in Curriculum Enhancement and Instructional Support.
